Earners of this designation have demonstrated skills to use therapeutic and traditional games/activities in a play therapy setting. They can articulate when to choose a directive play-based activity based upon clients’ developmental state, clinical issue and specific therapeutic goals and set limits. Earners are able to organize a playroom with play therapy activities that decrease stress, strengthen coping skills, increase emotional regulation, and improve self-esteem.

Pass a two-part assessment including a multiple-choice test and scored rubric demonstrating mastery of workshop objectives via small and large group activities and discussion.
