This badge is part of the VCU College of Engineering REAL portfolio. Earners of this badge have demonstrated an understanding of the National Academies of Engineering Grand Challenges. Student teams submit a proposal to a panel of engineering faculty evaluators. At the conclusion of this team-based ideation experience, earners are able to apply engineering principles and critical thinking to propose solutions to some of the biggest challenges facing planet Earth and humankind today.
