The course objective is to build upon the basics of Advanced Crash Investigation, At Scene (Level I). The student will receive advanced training in theory and derivation of reconstruction equations; flip and vault speed calculations; fall speed calculations, time, distance and acceleration analysis; impact speed calculations using conservation of linear momentum. This course is recommended for a total of 4 semester hours in the lower-division baccalaureate/associate degree category.

Earning Criteria

The methods of assessment include quizzes, examinations, performance-based testing, and practical exercises with a minimum passing score of 75 percent.

The methods of instruction include audiovisual materials, case studies, classroom exercises, discussion, lecture, and practical exercises. The general course topics include review of fundamentals of crash investigation; general airborne equations; pedestrian crash investigation conservation of momentum both vector and algebraic solutions; time and distance equations and analysis.
