Digital Citizenship Foundations

Digital Citizenship Foundations badge earners build a strong foundation of professional knowledge, skills, and abilities in five important domains: digital footprints, literacy, etiquette, responsibility, and hygiene. Working together with an instructor in small groups for five weeks, earners assess their own digital citizenship and develop a personalized learning plan to guide their professional development. Earners gain membership in the ongoing WSU Digital Citizenship Network.

Earning Criteria

  • Complete a five-week, instructor-led, online course, including three hours of interactive learning activities, group work, and performance-based assessments per week.
  • Engage with other members of your small "Tech Team" in weekly online discussions and group activities.
  • Evaluate your professional digital footprint, working with instructors to identify ways to improve your professional brand.
  • Assess your current level of digital literacy, working with instructors to identify skill, knowledge, and ability gaps.
  • Establish a personalized learning plan to guide your continued professional development as a digital citizen.
