Scrubs Online Career Exploration

The Scrubs Online Career Exploration program allows students to explore multiple careers in healthcare and the professional skills needed to work in the field. Students will explore 10 or more high-need health care careers, research two or more fields of interest, identify education pathways, and develop professional skills. Students completing the program are encouraged to attend future Scrubs Camps, the HealthForce Minnesota in-person career exploration camp program hosted across Minnesota.

Earning Criteria

The student will complete the required five (5) healthcare career modules within the program (Licensed Practical Nurse, Surgical First Assistant, Radiologic Technician, Histology Technician, Phlebotomy Technician); completing the video, powerpoint and quiz hosted within each module; the student must receive at least 80% passing rate on the quiz in each of the five (5) modules.

Complete the required Professional Skills module, showing an understanding of writing a resume and cover letter, as well as writing a professional thank you.

Present with a partner(s) on a healthcare career presentation of 10 minutes in length. The presentation is to exhibit the chosen healthcare career job duties, average salary, and education requirements needed for the career.

Write a 3-4 page paper of an individual chosen career explaining the reason the student is interested in the career, the average duties of the career, the average salary range of the career, the educational requirements needed for the career, and choosing a school within Minnesota where the student can receive the proper educational credentials to work in the chosen career field.

Attend two (2) live healthcare career presentations; or will watch at least two (2) of the live sessions and writing a 3 paragraph summary of the pre-recorded sessions.
