Badge holders have demonstrated a clear understanding of the requirements for a future railway communications system. Holders can describe the limitations of the existing GSM-R system in terms of the technology and available radio spectrum. They are also able to describe the benefits of replacing GSM-R with a 4G or 5G system and how the existing standards may need to be adapted to support railway applications.
