1. Define basic terms, codes, and purposes related to phlebotomy and laboratory testing. 2. Understand the anatomy and physiology of the hand and arm. 3. Understand privacy laws, law enforcement, CLIA and HIPPA regulations. 4. Collect blood specimens by venipuncture while adhering to OSHA guidelines and lab safety procedures. 5. Maintain and inventory equipment, supplies, reporting and standards for collecting blood specimens. 6. Describe and apply Standard Universal Precautions.
