Modern Language Association
The Modern Language Association and its 20,000 members work to strengthen the study and teaching of languages, literatures, and culture. Founded in 1883, the MLA provides opportunities for its members to share their scholarship and teaching experiences and to discuss trends in the academy. The association establishes guidelines for MLA fields and sustains a wide range of professional development programming, including the MAPS Leadership Institute, the ADE-ALD Summer Seminar, the Professional Development Hub at the MLA Annual Convention, career-related webinars, and more.
